This is a 100% unique product, not available from any other manufacturer worldwide and totally conceived and designed by STERLING POWER PRODUCTSand these units overcome all problems experienced now and anticipated in the future with standard advanced alternator regulators. The following explanantion is to help understand what it does and where it should be used and should not in any way be taken to demean any or the other charging products made by STERLING POWER PRODUCTS.

The Digital Advanced Alternator Regulator offers the best low cost technical solution to maximise the performance of your alternator ensuring adaptive charging.

There are however, markets that require a different approach to increasing the alternator performance, without all the work and expertise required to install a regulator.

WHEN WOULD I USE A DIGITAL SPLIT POWER AMPLIFIER AS OPPOSED TO A DIGITAL MALTERNATOR REGULATOR.

(1) If you are a boat builder or vehicle builder and labour costs are a critical issue then the AB unit wins hands down. It requires only one extra wire (a negative) to the unit over what is mainly existing plus the cables such as alternator in and domestic and engine battery out.

(2) If you are worried about the time and effort that it takes to fit an advanced regulator, then the AB unit will win and in installation other than under bonnet vehicle situations where you have a existing split charge diode with the correct sized cables then it would take around 15 minutes to install.

(3)If you have a voltage sensitive base platform (ie:a vehicle with an E.C.U.with high voltage alarms) then this unit is a must.

(4) If you have warranty issues with new engines, then the AB unit simply does not interfere with the alternator so there is no warranty conflict.

(5)If you are worried about finding a competent electrician or concerned about the fitting costs of an advanced regulator then the AB unit is the answer.

WHAT DOES THIS PRODUCT DO.

This AB unit incorporates a split charge diode system to charge 2 battery banks. However on the domestic battery bank channel only, there is a unique power amplifier that ensures the alternator works to a maximum capacity output and increases the voltage in this channel (with software digital control) up to 14.1V (for AGM) 14.4V (for Gel) and 14.8V for open lead acid/traction batteries. The AB unit uses the same very successful digital control as the Advanced Alternator Regulator.

WHAT OTHER USES ARE THERE FOR THIS PRODUCT.

This AB unit can be used on a single output battery charger or any other product which is a current limited device such as an old style transformer battery charger(or a constant current with low preset voltage controls and poor timer performance) which does not work very well then simply attach the AB unit to the output of the old battery charger and you will have the latest digital controlled 4 step charger with all the programs, control and split charge facilities that the AB unit offers plus an increase of at least about 500% in performance.(any connected power device must not exceed the current rating of the AB unit purchased.

EXTRA FEATURES BUILT INTO THE SYSTEM FOR USE IF REQUIRED.

(1) Battery Temperature Sensing.

(2) Alternator Temperature Sensing. This disengages the AB unit in the event of the alternator temperature getting too high, it then re engages the alternator through the AB unit when the alternator cools down.

(3)Ignition Start. Some alternators require a voltage on the alternator to start up and a split diode will prevent the alternator from working. An AB unit has a built in device to overcome this problem and in case of such an alternator being used.

(4)The Remote Control. This offers full set-up information, plus voltages and temperatures of all the relevent places , as per the digital alternator regulator.

(5) Current Measurement. This unit as standard does not measure current. However if the optional extra remote pack is purchased it comes with 2 x pre wired shunts that enable 2 currents to be monitored and the third current to be derived from the first two derived from the embedded software. This enables the three currents to be measured. ALTERNATOR OUTPUT, DOMESTIC BATTERY supply current, and ENGINE BATTERY BANK supply.

The end package is a very simple and easy application with all the performance and safety features of the most expensive Advanced Alternator Regulators, but with an extremely simple and convenient installation method.

The AB units dimensions are 250MM Long x 180MM Wide x 70MM Deep and weighs 2.5 KG.
